What is your main sport?
Other key activities and hobbies? What you are doing when you have some down time.
I really try to spend as much time as possible in the outdoors. But there slumbers also a creative side in me. I love the digital possibilities of photography and filming. So, I like to combine the elements of sport and art and create beautiful memories. Right now, we're working on a hiking and flying guidebook for central Switzerland, where I'm also doing a lot of the digital stuff. But if the weather forecast is anywhere near okay, you'd never find me inside.
Tell us about your background. A general overview for people on the site to get to know who you are and how you ended up where you are today.
I grew up at the foot of the Alps. Early on I developed a passion for snowboarding. Soon after, I went to a high school for winter sports in Engelberg and traveled from competition to competition. However, I didn't feel very comfortable in this competitive environment and therefore I started to spend more and more time in the backcountry. The more time you spend in the mountains the more you want to learn. So, it was obvious to me to start climbing and flying. I absolutely fell in love with the possibilities of these sports in alpine terrain.
Craziest adventure or experience so far?
Actually, it is not a very crazy adventure but at that time I had no idea about alpinism. My friend asked me to climb the Obergabelhorn with him. Without further ado, I bought a pair of crampons and set off with him the next day. During the night it rained and the temperatures dropped rapidly. This changed the entire mountain into an ice pyramid. It was super cold, windy, and slippery. Shortly before we reached the summit, the sun came up and began to warm our bodies. The feeling of being on this overwhelming mountain was a signpost for my future. At this moment I felt more alive than ever before.
Bucket list or dream trip?
There is a list on my phone, probably as long as all Harry Potter novels put together. But in the past few years, I've decided to spend more time around my home. There are so many hidden places to explore that it will take me two lifetimes. But if I had to describe an all-time trip, it would be sailing and climbing in Greenland.
Why did you want to become a Haglöfs ambassador?
I like to inspire people to go outside, do adventures and fascinating things. It's great to be part of a brand who has the same philosophy and not just want to sell as much stuff as possible.
